Workshop for SMEs: From Regulation to Ecoefficiency, Prague, Czech Republic

The main task of this workshop is to introduce new modern practice in preventive environmental management and promoting innovation in this field to the representatives of industry. Proactive companies get increasingly competitive advantage by reducing the environmental risks in cost-effective way, by better material and energy management and also by better communication with key partners. Experiences and plans of companies that are the pioneers in the area as well as experiences of representatives of the Ministry of Environment and the Ministry of Industry and Trade which together support these new trends in industrial environmental management will be presented at a seminar.

Seminar participants will learn about the experiences and offer of business support from the Czech Republic and Europe and will be able to discuss their problems and experiences with experts. For example Professor Thomas Lindhqvist from Sweden, author of the concept of extended producer’s responsibility, or Dr. Stig Hirsbak, preventive of European network for preventive approaches in industrial environmental management PREPARE will have presentations on the seminar. Experience with implementation of the modern approaches in eco-efficiency will be presented by for example, Ing. Ladislav Gaspar, General Director of PD Refractories and president of the Association of Czech and Slovak producers of refractories. Lectures will be presented in Czech and English language. Interpretation will be provided.
